Weimaraner Rescue & Re-homingNo matter how hard a Breeder tries to place his puppies
in good homes, circumstances are bound to change, and for reasons unforeseen at
the time, a Weimaraner might need a new home. Circumstances like divorce,
emigration or even death of owners has often resulted in dogs with secure and
loving homes suddenly having their worlds turned up side down. Should your Weimaraner need a new home, always remember
to give us plenty of notice, should you require assistance in finding a good
home. Should you find a stray, give
us a call, maybe we can find the owner. In finding new homes for the dogs, it is just as
important that the prospective new owners are interviewed and vetted before
agreeing to let them have a precious Weimaraner. As much effort should be taken
to find a good home for an adult dog. It would be regrettable, if later, we
would have to re-home a re-homed Weimaraner! Please, if you have never owned a Weimaraner, do your research, visit as many adult Weimaraners as you can, spend time talking to their owners and ask yourself, ''DO I REALLY WANT A WEIMARANER?''. Sleep on it, talk to the whole family and ask yourselves, ''DO ALL OF US REALLY WANT A WEIMARANER?'' They are a breed that needs lots of exercise and,
although quick to learn, will need reminding throughout their lives what is
expected of them. Most of all they need your companionship. They are not yard dogs.
If there isn’t somebody at home most of the day, you will have a very
lonely and unhappy Weimaraner. Another dog as a companion is still not good
enough. The Weimaraner needs, and indeed thrives on, human companionship. If you do not want to go through the ‘puppy years,’
consider giving a home to an adult dog. You will be rewarded possibly with a
well-trained, well-socialised dog without all the puppy and adolescent hassle. Please contact Phyllis Carter at 021-689-9678 or Renee Minny at 011-979-2112 or email us at ghostwing@planetpastel.com
