This is my first car which my dad bought me in 1995 when I
was in matric. It's a 1982 Daihatsu Charade 1000cc for which
he paid all of R2500. We totally stripped and resprayed it.
This took us about 3 weeks. We fitted the front bumper of a
Fiat Uno to give it a bit more aggressive look. Although a
very slow car it was also very nice to drive. I sold it in
1996 to buy an Opel. That's actually where I got hooked on
Opels.

This was my second car which I bought in 1996.
It was a 1988 1600 GSE. When I blew the motor I
fitted a 2.0 16v motor from a CD. Although the
motor was standard it was quite powerful. I also
resprayed the car and fitted a G&M dropkit (40mm)
which made the car look great. Unfortunately I don't
have any photos of the car after it was finished.

Here are some pictures of my beautiful 16V after I
smashed it on Ontdekkers Road by Westgate. Fortunately
I survived but had a badly broken leg. I did a few guys
a favor by taking out an advertisement board about 3 days
before they were scheduled to take it down!

My current 2 cars are both Opels. The first is again a
Kadett 1600 GSE, but this time it's standard, and the second
is an Astra 160i which I bought in 1999. The third picture
shows where I changed the wheels and the front end of the
Astra. I mainly drive this car over weekends and to Opel
Club meetings. It's a lovely car and I doubt if I'll get
rid of it.
