This book provides a relatively comprehensive bibliography on the Catholic Church in South Africa. It is published primarily as a research tool for students and academics that wish to study aspects of the Catholic Church in South Africa from its early beginnings to the present time. The focus is on the life and activity of the church, its institutions, and its ministries. Every effort has been made to be as comprehensive as possible concerning this goal. The principal geographical focus of the work is South Africa. Nevertheless, a large number of references to other Southern African countries have also been included. The bibliography is divided into three sections. Part 1 comprises an alphabetical list of journal articles books and unpublished theses. Part 2 is a listing of hitherto overlooked sources from the publications of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. This congregation has played a major role in Catholic evangelisation in Southern Africa. Part 3 is a listing of previous and current periodical publications of the Catholic Church in Southern Africa.
